The Portuguese has missed his side's last two games through injury and his team-mate is looking forward to his return
Pepe says Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and is hoping the forward makes a return to action sooner rather than later.
A Gareth Bale hat-trick saw los Blancos make light work of the Portugal international's injury-enforced absence with a 4-0 win over Valladolid on Saturday evening.
But despite the impressive nature of victory on the back of a 4-1 success against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday - which Ronaldo also missed with a thigh problem - Pepe is looking forward to his return.
The 30-year-old said: "Cristiano is the best player in the world. We need him back but it is good that we worked well and [Karim] Benzema, Isco and [Angel] Di Maria had great games.
"I think we started the game well and played a good pressing game and that made things easier for us. We have very clear ideas about how we want to do things and it is important we continue in this manner."
The win saw third-placed Madrid close the gap on Barcelona to three points at the top of La Liga, with the Blaugrana set to face Athletic Bilbao on Sunday
