Surely, Manchester city fans didn't expect to be dealt a blow by West ham; not with the recent fine form of Manchester City, and Agueros goal scoring antiques. That wasn't the case this Saturday afternoon, as West Ham defeated the Citizens by 2 goals to one.
Both teams started brightly, but Manchester city tormented West ham, with Aguero. There was an early booking as Amalfitano tackled Navas in the 7th minute.
However, there was an early scare for city fans, as Mangala heads just over his goalkeepers post. West Ham pumped a long free kink into their oppositions penalty area, with Sakho flicking it for Valencia, who steams towards Hart, with the ball ending up hitting the GK's face.
Disaster came running at City, when Alex Song played in a pass behind Clichy, the Valencia cuts across and passes it to Amalfitano, who takes the honour of tapping it in.
City looked more composed afterwards, as Dzeko fires just over in the 44th minute. Dzeko was taking of and replaced by Jovetic in the 59th minute.
West Ham's goal scorer was taken off in the 67th minute, and replaced by Kayat. City opened the door to disaster again, as the let Cresswell cross the ball, and Sakho was at the end of it to head home thankfully, despite late efforts from Joe Hart.
Valencia was taking off and replaced by Cole in the 76th minute. City finally got one back through David Silva, who was assisted by Navas. There where a bunch of substitutes later on, as City pushed for a goal, but couldn't find it.
City still 2nd on the table (for now) , one point ahead of Southampton with a game to play, while West ham sit fourth. City would be looking to bounce back against rivals Manchester United, who face Chelsea. West ham would be looking to continue this form, as they play Stoke City who sit in tenth position.
