I Am Back ;Ribery

The France ace showed now affects from his recent rib injury in a virtuoso display at the Weserstadion, and admitted that it is "great fun" playing in Pep Guardiola's side

Franck Ribery was understandably a happy man after making a goalscoring return to action in Bayern Munich 's 7-0 demolition of Werder Bremen on Saturday.

The France international was back in the Bavarians' line-up for the first time since suffering a rib injury in his country's World Cup play-off win over Ukraine in Paris last month and he made his presence felt, netting twice and racking up two assists in a resounding away win.

"I am back," Ribery told reporters after a horribly one-sided encounter at Weserstadion. "I am glad that I managed a game.

"It was great to be back from the start on the pitch. The pain in the rib is as good as gone, so I could play freely."

Bayern opened the scoring 21 minutes in courtesy of an own goal from Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti and never looked back, with Daniel van Buyten, Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze also on target as Pep Guardiola's men extended the club's unbeaten domestic run to 40 games.

Ribery admitted afterwards that he cannot believe his good fortune that he is getting to play in such a powerful and exciting side.

"It was another good game by the team," the winger enthused. "With this team, it's just great fun.

"But we must continue to play as well against [Manchester] City on Tuesday."

Bayern will be bidding for the 11th successive win in the Champions League when they welcome the English outfit to the Allianz Arena for their final game of the group stage.
